G1: Advanced students will demonstrate a mastery of research methodology pertaining to

questions, problems, and issues in of the American CJ System and those of comparable global

systems

Coursework provides students with basic procedures, processes, and formulae of social science

research methodology equipping students to contribute to the corpus of knowledge in the field.

 

G 2: Advanced students will demonstrate a grasp of basic concepts and procedures of the

American CJ System and tenets of comparable global systems

Coursework provides students with basic information on foundations, components, and mechanics

of the American CJ system, as well as a knowledge of comparable systems in history and the

present day.

 

G 3: Advanced students will demonstrate a grasp of key conceptual, philosophical, historical,

and theoretical issues in criminology, penology, criminal law, and victimology

Coursework, writing assignments, and experiential opportunities provide students with this

knowledge.
